After a few days hard frosts I was chuffed to see another decent turnout with 20 lads in the match. The weather was not too bad, about 8 degrees & no wind at all, which made it perfect for the waggler. At the draw everyone wanted peg 1 & Dave Woodcock drew this early, so we were all fishing for 2nd… or so we thought!
Odd carp showed up all over the lake & surprisingly the new stockies didn’t turn up in such huge numbers as last week in peg 1 with Dave only managing 24:08. Despite a slow start Willy Eyre fished the wag & corn on peg 25 & caught carp to 6 lbs steadily to win comfortably with 71:11. Tony Quinn & Adder got 2nd & 3rd respectively off pegs 9 & 10 with 55:08 & 43:07. They used wag, tip & pole and had fish on all methods. There were 17 lads in the Silvers Match which was won by Pully again with 12:04 off peg 27. Overall Result…
