Risby Open Match on Folly.
The weather gods decided to kick us all in the nuts again.
Strong winds were forecast, but supposedly “NO rain”… yeah right… it rained for probably 75% of the day and was heavy at times with storm force winds bellowing down the lake !
Anyway, nothing could dampen Ricky Smith’s spirits, as despite quite a late pick and choosing peg 5, (which most of the regulars consider a weaker peg), he absolutely emptied it!!
Ricky caught quality carp with fish ranging from 4lbs to 10lbs throughout the day. He finished with a season’s best match weight of 161:09.
Ricky caught the majority of his fish short down his inside margin on 6mm cubes of meat.
In 2nd spot was Roger Edmond, on peg 11, with another superb weight of 118:07.
Roger had some quality skimmers and odd carp early on, before switching to his margins later in the match. It was in the margins that he too located some bigger carp to 8lbs.

3rd Willy Eyre, 91:03, peg 3.
4th Rich Willey, 83:05, peg 27.
5th Jason Moody, 63:07, peg 18.
6th Mike Clark, 61:02.

Most lads had a decent day.
The actual average weight per angler was just shy of 70lbs !!
