Saturday 15th Nov’25 Open Match Folly Lake
The previous 24 hours had seen several days worth of torrential rain fall and the water looked like chocolate.
Despite there being a decent turnout again, hopes were low.
The Folly however proved there was no need to fret and there were plenty of bites for everyone.
Willy Eyre was on the in-form peg 3 again and managed to secure the win with a superb weight of 54:02.
Willy fished his ‘tried & tested’ tactic of the method tight across with a pink 6mm wafter to land several quality carp.

Folly Lake Open 2nd Nov 2024
Hi… quite hard for most on Folly today.., but Robbo had a nice day winning with 118lbs off peg25. He had approx 18 carp ranging from 3lbs to 9lbs on the waggler at full depth with a 6mm pellet.
2nd was Willy Eyre with 60lbs off peg 3.
3rd was Jason Moody with 45lbs off peg 7.
4th was Roger Edmond with 40:04 off peg 17
5th was Rich Willey with 40:03 off peg 27.

Risby Park Folly Open Match 19th October
Here’s today’s result from the Folly Open….
A miserable start to the day was followed ny reasonable sport again for the “Risby Faithfull”…
Despite having last pick at the draw, Pully still managed to win on the day, with a respectful autumn / winter weight of 78lbs.
That being said, it was another mega close match with less than 4 lbs separating the top 3.

1st Robbo, 101lbs off peg 16.
2nd was Geoff Boycott with 86lbs off peg 30.
Pully was 3rd with 84lbs off peg 19.
Willy Eyre was 4th with 57lbs off peg 26.
Sid “the dipper” Gray was 5th with 56lbs off peg 23.

Saturday 14th September
A decent day weather-wise, but the better fish mainly fed on the Folly bank and the dam wall… the lads expected good skimmer catches, but they only fed occasionally throughout the day for most. That being said Jason Moody had over 30lbs of them off peg 9.
1st was Steve Pulford with 104lbs off peg 17.
He mainly fished soft pellet on the deck at 11 – 13m.
2nd was Geoff Boycott with 95lbs off peg 23.
3rd Sid Gray with 67lbs off peg 20.
4th John LeGreco 41lbs peg 16.
Sunday 15th September
The carp had a bit more of a chew for the Sunday match lads… strangely though the skimmers were conspicuousby their absence again.
1st Steve Conlin with 122lbs off peg 16.
2nd Andy Kelly 110lbs off peg 25, (including 20 skimmers, which was rare on the day).
3rd Willy Eyre 104lbs off peg 14.
4th Mick Fenwick with 92lbs off peg 20.
Open Matches are being run each and every Saturday starting on 21st September right through till the end of April.
