Here’s the result from the Risby Open on Folly…Sat 4th Nov 2023
It came as no great surprise to see the water levels a lot higher than usual, even for this time of the year. What was surprising was the colour.
The Folly looked more like the River Humber or the River Hull in flood than a match lake!
Having said that, the Folly fished miles better than anyone had expected…
The first hour or so was very slow for most of the lads, with just the odd skimmer and occasional carp coming out.
Robbo had drawn peg 16 and was probably the second last to have a bite and with an hour and a half gone, only had a 6oz stockie to show for his effort.
Thankfully, a few decent skimmers started to feed, as did some cracking carp, with the biggest being a lovely common of approx15lbs.
Result
1st Robbo 76:00, peg 16. Double red maggot over micros at 14.5m.
5 carp for 55:06 & 20:10 of skimmers.
2nd Nick Peat, 63lbs, peg 23. Nick caught 7 carp and some nice skimmers on 6mm expanders over micros.
3rd Joss Gilligan, 52:13, peg 9.
4th Pully, 52:07, peg 18.

1st Nige Roberts, 21:00, peg 27.
2nd Robbo 20:10.
3rd Joss Gilligan, 16:15.
