Saturday 29th Nov’25 Open Match on Folly
A decent winter’s turnout were disappointed to see even more rain falling again.. hopes were, at best, ‘reasonable’ for a decent day’s fishing.
Yet again though, and when everyone least expected it, The Folly was in top form!?!?
With the exception of the winner, the match was a mega tight affair with only 2lbs separating 2nd and 5th places!
Mick Bavistock made the best of his peg 3 draw, by fishing the method 3/4 of the way over to “fairly tight” to the margins, to land a string of carp ranging from 3lbs to 8lbs. Despite Mick losing a few fish, he put a total of 76:02 to comfortably win the match.
Result
1st M.Bavistock, 76:02, p.3.
2nd S.Butcher, 40:03, p.1.
3rd J.Elgreco, 39:10, p.27.
4th W.Eyre, 38:02, p.29.
5th I.Whittles, 38:01, p.23
6th T.McLean, 30:15, p.17
If the above main match result looked close, the silvers match was ridiculously tight.

Wednesday 26th Nov’25 Open Match on Tench Pond
A dry, but bitterly cold day caused the attendance to drop, with quite a few of the regulars deciding it was a day to stay indoors!
Despite the freezing cold weather, the Tench Pond fished really well and everyone had a few fish.

2nd Robbo, 27:10, peg 19.
3rd Pully, 22:08, peg 16.

Saturday 22nd Nov’25 Open Match on Folly
Another cold and wet day greeted the faithful, soon to be medically assessed for brain damage…
The thermometer showed a high of 3 degrees, but it felt like minus 10 !!
The feeding fish were tightly “balled up” in the middle of the lake, which was great news if you’d dropped on them and horrendous if you hadn’t!!
The match was won by Pete Suggitt with a great weight of 59:03 off peg 17. Pete fished the long pole, alternating between corn and maggot on the hook to land several quality carp and a few silvers.
Result
1st P.Suggit 59:03, p.17.
2nd R.Edmond 49:08, p.26
3rd J.Moody 44:11, p.29
4th S.Pulford 36:09, p.31

1st R.Edmond 28:08
2nd R.Willey 13:02, p.27
3rd J.Moody 11:12
Wednesday 19th Nov’25 Open Match on Tench Pond
The weather had taken a turn for the worse, with sleet, snow and rain forecast, along with a predicted windchill of -5 degrees.
The lads were mentally prepared for a hard day at the office and dare I say it.., even a “blank”??
Tush tush tush… “you can’t blank on a commercial”
This was the cry as each and everyone of the anglers caught their first, (of many), fish !!
Nige Roberts had a great day on peg 12 catch approximately 50 of the new stockies and a few silvers for his winning weight of 35:04.
Result
1st N.Roberts, 35:04, p.12
2nd W.Eyre, 29:01, p.23
3rd Robbo, 21:10, p.19
4th S.Pulford 14:10, p.16.
