Here’s yesterday’s match result from Folly…
Saturday 30th March 2024, Folly Open Match, (Rover).
Finally, the weather gods decided to treat the Risby Lads to a bright and sunny day. Sadly, though, the previous months’ heavy rain still meant a very muddy, trudge through deep mud to the pegs.
Neil “Cockney” White was 1st out of the bag and opted to fish in-form peg 23.
Cockney started with the method fished tight to the dam wall and had a few early carp.
He then switched to the pole with a bunch of maggots on the hook to land several more carp to 11lbs.
He was unlucky to lose approx 7 carp, including 2 doubles at the net for his final weight of 75:14, which was only good enough for the runner-up spot.
Willy Eyre took the top spot by fishing peg 1 and had a superb net of the stockies, that were put in November, together with a few better carp totalling 99lbs 4oz.
Willy had a few on the hybrid method feeder, before changing tactics to the pole at 16 metres.
In 3rd place was Jason Moody with another lovely net of fish totalling 74lbs 8oz off peg 16.
Jason absolutely blitzed the silvers match with a fantastic net of skimmers totalling 57lbs 15oz.
Geoff Boycott took 4th with 69lbs 5oz off peg 9. Boyx fished the method across with a 6mm “chocolate orange” 6mm wafter before swapping over to the pole to add a few more skimmers and carp.
